“ Amazing, tried several both savory and sweet. Each one excellent!!! The all made from scratch!!! My only regret is that we didn't buy more to take home!!!!! ”
“ My husband and I decided to take a day trip and wound up in Strawberry. We stopped at the Pie Bar for a late lunch, and were so glad we did! Many hand pie choices, both savory and sweet. We tried several variations, the Mountain Mama, Mountain Baby, green chili pork and a cherry pie. All were delicious. They are small so two makes a good meal. All come with a sauce of your choice. Delicious, fun, friendly. Will return! ”
“ Okay! The empanadas at this spot are good! A little spicy, but that's not a bad thing. The PIEbar is an outdoor restaurant, you order your food and sit outside. Plenty of seating and dog friendly! They've also got alcoholic drinks which was a nice surprise. One bathroom for customers as well. The empanadas are hot, fresh and savory(or sweet!) the pineapple empanada and Picadillo beef were amazing! Will definitely always stop here when I'm in the area! ”
“ The empanadas were amazing! I had the picadilla, my husband and the loaded baked potato and my daughter had the strawberry. Great staff and service. Small spot with seating outside. Can't wait to come back and try more! ”
“ Saw this place on our way to hike at Tonto State Park and decided to stop by on our way back. Best decision ever! Cute place with friendly staff and lots of patio seating. Fresh empanadas with just the right amount of crunch and softness. We tried: Chicken pot pie 10/10 Picadillo beef 10/10 Green Chile pork 10/10 Mountain baby 12/10 Molten chocolate 10/10 Lemon bar 10/10 If it wasn't a 2 and a half hour drive for us, we'd be here everyday! ”
“ PieBar has been on my list of places to try, and it surely did not disappoint. Easy to order with menus on poles outside. The sweet girl (dang I didn't get her name) was extremely helpful and shared lots of background information on the establishment. She even shared a picture of what it looked like before. A little over four years ago it was just a shed. The person who is now the owner is also in real estate and decided to turn it into an empanada stand. The empanadas were fresh, hot, & super yummy. We ordered the mountain man and veggie for lunch and a lemon and apple pie for dessert. There is no doubt that the empanadas are made with love. Every bite tasted delicious. A great little gem of a roadside stand. Perfect for a day trip and yes, we will be back! * There is no indoor seating, however, there are three different outdoor seating. * The restrooms were in a separate building. It smelled new and was spotless. * Closed on Wednesdays ”
“ We were camping up the road and made a trip to town for ice. Stopped here and ordered three separate times. The ladies helping us were so friendly and helpful (chimicuri sauce) and the different pies. Omg I'm still wishing I'd eaten like three more of those beef picodilla ones. I'll have to make a special trip. Well worth it. The outside patios are great and dog friendly (a must for us this trip). Stop here. Eat lots. Closed on Wednesday no pics of food because I ate it too quick. ”
“ We still come here for the same artichoke empanada years later. It's just so good. The drive to Strawberry is stunning and you're sure to catch an elk or deer along the way. They are always cleaning and keeping things tidy. Definitely recommend this stop! ”
“ So glad I decided to stop and get a quick snack for the road. I seem to keep driving by here when they're closed and finally caught them when they were open. I ordered 3 empanadas: the mountain man (fav), artichoke dip and peach. They are all baked to perfection and the fillings were so delicious. I also got a side of frosting for the peach empanada. The line moved very quickly and the weather was beautiful outside so I ate in the outside seating. There is no indoor seating. Stop by when you're in the area. ”
